Installing Samsung USB drivers for Android USB Debugging in Windows 8

Are you worried about having Windows 8 in your PC and not able to connect your Samsung Android device in debug mode because of Kies compatibility issue? Here is the solution for your problem.

Here the step by step instructions to get your Samsung Phone in USB debugging mode in Windows 8 consumer preview.

  1. First download and install Samsung Kies for Windows from here

  2. Now open go to the kies installation directory and look for USB Driver directory.

  3. Normally it would be C:\Program Files\Samsung\Kies\USB Driver and inside this you will find SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones application.

  4. Not install SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones in  compatibility mode.

  5. After installing the usb drivers now connect your device to the PCin USB cable, it will take 1 minute to install driver for your phone.

  6. After the installing driver dialog disappear, now go to command prompt and type 'adb devices'. You can see your device listed here.
Note : I have done this in Windows 8 consumer Preview build 8250 using Samsung Galaxy Y, Galaxy Tab 2 and Galaxy S3.
